CORONAVIRUS RESOURCES

Since the COVID-19 pandemic has upended education at every level, our highest priority is the safety of students, faculty and staff, as well as your families and communities. NEA represents faculty, staff and support professionals at institutions that range from community colleges in Washington state to research universities in Florida. Together, we are united in providing a high-quality higher education, so that every student can attain their dreams. As a union, we are fighting for access and affordability, and the workplace conditions that support student learning, including academic freedom, tenure, social justice, and more.

Take Action: Tell your lawmakers to cancel student loan debt.

The COVID-19 pandemic has had a devastating effect on the economic security of American families. The Student Debt Emergency Relief Act (H.R. 6363), introduced by Rep. Ayanna Pressley (D-MA), would cancel at least $30,000 in outstanding student loan debt, boosting consumer spending and reducing the financial strain on educators and other borrowers. Urge your lawmaker to support it.
